First Citizens Bank has announced plans to discontinue the Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) brand, nearly three years after SVB’s collapse. The move marks a significant step in integrating the two institutions following First Citizens’ acquisition of SVB’s assets.

Peter Bristow, President of First Citizens Bank, stated that the company is looking forward to engaging with clients and highlighting the expanded range of products available through the combined organization. “We’re eager to start talking and bringing together the wide product set that First Citizens, as a combined group, can offer,” Bristow told the Business Times.

The decision to retire the SVB name comes as First Citizens continues to unify its operations and branding efforts. The integration aims to leverage the strengths of both banks, providing clients with a broader suite of financial services.

First Citizens acquired the assets of Silicon Valley Bank following SVB’s collapse, which was one of the most significant bank failures in recent years. Since then, First Citizens has worked to incorporate SVB’s offerings and client base into its own operations.

The transition away from the SVB brand is expected to further streamline First Citizens’ presence in the market, as the bank seeks to present a unified identity to its customers and stakeholders.
